At Lyon Park Primary School, we believe that physical education (PE) is an essential part of every child’s educational development. We aim to develop an exciting program offering a variety of sports activities to enhance their skills in PE. We believe regular participation and positive experiences in PE will enable our children to raise their self-esteem, build a strong individual and team work ethic and grow a positive attitude to PE.

Promote fair play and sportsmanship
Since 2013, the government has provided additional funding (Sports Premium funding) each academic year to improve the provision of PE and sport in primary schools.
Sports Premium funding, provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, will be allocated to primary school Head teachers. Sports Premium funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.
The documents below outline how we have spent our sports funding and the impact it has had on the children of Lyon Park Primary School.
